Kerstyn met Matt after a cheeky introduction via Kertyn’s mum at a company event.
Fast forward a few years later and the loved up pair went to Italy for their Summer holiday.
With gelato in hand, they walked up 150+ stairs to see the view at the top of Piazza Del Popolo in Rome and when Kerstyn turned around Matt was on his knee with a bunch of locals cheering nearby. The perfect start to a European trip with non stop reasons to celebrate.
Kerstyn headed to her good friend Nikki and Peter Trends retailer LOVE THEORY BRIDAL in Geneva Illinois. Nikki knew exactly how to help Kerstyn discover the gown she was dreaming of. She showed Kerstyn our Australian designed wedding dress Paris and it was love at first sight.
Kerstyn explains the experience in her own words:
“I was a little intimidated going in because I can be very indecisive. I hadn’t pictured myself in a specific gown so I had no idea what style I would like but I love fashion, so I wanted to get it right! Luckily, Nikki and I used to work together so I knew I was in good hands at Love Theory. She made the try on process so easy and took a lot of the stress out of it. True to form, I couldn’t make a decision that day and went shopping 2 more times but I kept thinking about and coming back to the Paris gown! I think it was a perfect choice! It had a deep V which flattered me and gorgeous beading throughout and was the perfect silhouette for a summer wedding. And the train! It looked so pretty being able to see through it as it draped the ground”.
With inspiration following an Italian Summer, Kerstyn was inspired by rust and terracotta colors so she started planning to introduce those hues into the special day. The venue, Chicago Winery had the perfect backdrop to match the vibe, including beautiful wooden arches, amber lighting, and romantic details and accents, in the heart of the city. The date was at the end of August so the warm “wine” shades were reflected in the flowers and decor with accents of greenery. To top it all off, photos by the lake helped capture that perfect summer day.
On the day, walking down the aisle, hearing the songs especially chosen with both mom and dad her side, Kerstyn was so emotional when she looked down and saw her soon to be husband, Matt. That’s when the day really started and felt real to this lovely pair and that moment will be treasured forever.
